The spirit

A family business

Respectful of traditions and skills passed down from generation to generation.

Winegrowers from father to son

Maison JH Quenardel was founded in 1906 by my grandfather, Henri Quenardel, when he decided to vinify champagne from his own grapes and commercialise it as his own brand.
My father Jean joined him in the 1930's. I followed in his footsteps and joined the estate in the 1970's, as it developed, respectful of traditions passed down from generation to generation.

Today, my son Jean-Charles helps me, and we work together enthusiastically, far from seeking high productivity, since our prime objective is to produce rare and authentic champagnes.

Striving for quality

We love our terroir and vineyards, and we work the land responsibly by letting weeds grow in the aisles for example, or by limiting the yield so as to stimulate the grapes for better quality.

We produce our champagnes patiently and skilfully, with the aim of controlling the quality and authenticity. We give them time to develop aromas and express different characteristics. Some are aged in our cellar for 5 to 7 years, so as to obtain supple wines, which will not fail to surprise and please you.

For exceptional champagnes to come to existence, let time do its work.
